The series has spawned six main titles to date, along with several remakes and updated versions of previous games, as well as crossovers with SNK, Marvel, Namco, and Tatsunoko characters. Starting with 1987's Street Fighter, the series grew in popularity exponentially following the release of 1991's Street Fighter II: The World Warrior.
